OpenOcean is a pan-European early-stage venture capital firm investing in AI-native companies building the data economy. As its portfolio matured and visibility increased, the firm needed a more strategic digital system to communicate its thesis and scale trust with founders, LPs, and co-investors.

Challenges

Despite having a strong portfolio and technical brand, OpenOcean’s digital presence was unaligned with its current market position.

Build a system that reflects OpenOcean’s thesis, portfolio, and technology.

We rebuilt the site, repositioned the messaging, and established a scalable structure for insights, investment themes, and growth tracking.

1. Messaging System

We restructured all top-level messaging to focus on OpenOcean’s strength in early-stage AI infrastructure:

Each investment theme was supported by sector-specific landing pages and a refreshed content model.

2. UX and Visual Rebuild

A custom build replaced legacy layouts. The new design system includes:

  • Mobile-first grid and interaction design
  • Navigation split by portfolio, team, insights, and thesis
  • New "Submit Your Pitch" UX for founder engagement
  • Custom components for case studies, investment themes, and blog content

3. SEO Performance

We implemented a foundational SEO strategy to support high-intent search performance across early-stage AI, infrastructure, and VC brand keywords.
